MLB Free Agency will be Open Bidding done here on Proboards. This will be for players who are MLB1 - MLBVET Contracts(MIN-MLBRUK will be on Fantrax).
Free Agency will open up after the MLB ROSTER ANNUAL AUCTION DRAFT - there will be a few days waiting period after the draft to make sure no errors are on rosters etc. **NOTE There is an MLB In-Season Cap of $450. This is up from the $350 in the Auction Draft. To be clear if you don't spend the total $350 in draft nothing gets added to the $450. So it's not if you have $25 leftover you now have $475 for the season. You simply are further under cap, so $25 leftover would make you $125 under cap as opposed to $100 under if you spend it all in draft.
MiLB is a lot simpler. It is a $100 seperate cap from the MLB one, and is enforced at all times.
**Players that qualify as MIN - MLBRUK Contracts will be done via Blind Bidding on Fantrax, with a minimum starting bid of $1,no half dollar bids. The Blind Bid will be the player's salary, so bid wisely. With this system you could temporarily be over the $100 MiLB Cap as you won't know if you win the player until the claim is processed. If you do win the player you will have to make a corresponding move to get under the cap A.S.A.P.(Players must qualify at time of the bid, bidding will be daily. Prospects for Current Year's Real Life MLB Draft or IFA Signing Period are not eligible for MiLB Blind Bidding during the season. They will first be available in our Annual Off-Season MiLB Draft). **Player needs to be officially signed by an MLB Team. An example would be if a player is drafted but returned to college instead, they are not eligible. Just like if an IFA player is supposed to sign with a team but never officially did. They need to officially be in the team's organization to be bid on. **Tiebreaker for MiLB is set on Fantrax for the team with the lowest record wins the bid. Just like waivers, prior to the season starting and for the first week of the current season, it will go by the team's record of the previous season. If by chance teams have an exact tied record we will refer to the playoff tiebreaker system and the losing/worst team will win the player. After the first week of the season Fantrax will use our current records as the tiebreaker so we will not have to refer to the previous year's standings.
**Here on Proboards for MLB Free Agency the minimum starting bid will be $2, and each increase will need to be a minimum of $1. Keep in mind on here you will not be allowed to bid over your cap to get a player, if you are going to bid please have enough cap space or have made a move to free up cap space ahead of time.
Threads are time stamped here so once the thread is created the 24hr clock starts ticking. Each time there is a new bid it will start a new 24hr clock.
You will create a thread here titled - Players Name, Position, MLB Team - in the thread you will put the amount.
**Contract Breakdown - This so you know who to post here:
MLB1 = Service Time of anything over 0 but not over 1yr - if they fall here but are under 130ab/50ip they qualify as MLBRUK which would go to Fantrax Bidding
MLB2 = Service Time of anything over 1 but not over 2yrs
MLB3 = Service Time of anything over 2 but not over 3yrs
MLBVET = Service Time of anything 3 and over
**Note: In the case a player is exactly on 1yr, 2yr, or 3yr Service Time they will be moved up to the next contract level
