Rules to remember when completing trades:
1. Trades must be fair. Of course one side might have the immediate better part of the deal, but it must have a benefit for each team now or in the future.
2. Trades must keep each team within the Salary Cap of $400 "In-Season/Post Draft", no exceptions. If a trade puts a team over the cap they must drop another player to stay within it, basically a corresponding move to make the trade legal.
3. Trades should be initiated and accepted on the Yahoo Website by each team involved. If there is an instance where a NA or DL player will not allow the trade to go through via the normal process on Yahoo, but the trade is fair and within Cap Rules, Admin Team will try to carry out the trade manually. If the trade will absolutely not fly on Yahoo it will not be executed. Teams will be advised to see if any adjustments can be made to make the trade possible. If this becomes a major issue we can look for a different platform in the future.
4. Teams involved in a trade must respond here with a rationale on why they accepted the trade. There is a 1 day waiting period for trades, so Admin Team will have the trade posted here a.s.a.p., so teams can respond accordingly.

Trades for the 2019 season will be player for player only. Uneven is fine like 1 for 4 or 2 for 3 depending on the situation. No Cap/$ will be allowed to trade.
Trading Cap/$ can be brought up for discussion in the future and voted on, but in setting up the league I did not see this as an option because it is not a full dynasty league. We can discuss it in the next off-season.

Trade guidelines have been updated due to minor league expansion and poll votes. By-Laws and guidelines here will be updated in a timely manner. During the transition we will refer to polls, and any documentation of the updates in regards to trades. Everything is out in the open so any questions please ask, we can all help each other.

*****UPDATES FOR 2020*****Over all trades are the same procedure. Here are a few updates for the 2020 Season. Some we have even already put to use.
1. Trades will now be initiated on Fantrax now that we are using that site.
2. Now that we have MLB and MiLB Rosters we must take each cap into regard when making trades, when and where they apply.
3. Trades will be voted on by the league now and need majority to be vetoed. Of course they will always be reviewed regardless, and anything looking to lopsided there will be an inquiry about. Really that is what the rationale is for so I don't foresee any major issues.
4. Trading of MLB Cap Space is now allowed - Upcoming/Current Season Only - This would also be allowed before the MLB Auction Draft, but money will be applied after the draft to the teams cap. A team can only trade a max of $25 of cap, which can go to different teams in increments, whatever the trade was agreed upon. A team can only accept up to $50 in cap space trades. This will only count for the current season and cannot be carried over.
5. Player Salary Retention is now allowed - Upcoming/Current Season Year Only - Amount can be up to 50% for the current season, but will not carry over. A team can be allowed to do this for up to 5 players per year.
6. Trading of MiLB Off-Season draft picks are now allowed - Upcoming/Current Season Year Only
**Teams involved in a trade must respond here on Proboards with a rationale on why they accepted the trade. There is a 1 day waiting period for trades, so Admin Team will have the trade posted here a.s.a.p., so teams can respond accordingly.
**Updated for 2020 Season - 03/05/2020

*****There has been an update for 2021 in regards to trades. Fantrax has been updated to allow trades to go through immediately, this was done after realizing that cap needs to be updated in real time to make sure it is being followed. With stats being recorded every day once the season starts this a needed change and does not need to be voted on. We can still keep the vote system, we can just simply post votes here by attaching them to the trade, so it really doesn't change that aspect. If anything needs to be undone Fantrax has that capability. I don't think we should run into this given the league structure and teams giving there rationales for trades, but it is still in place if we do*****
