Free Agents/Waivers - Add/Drop Players Rules:
All free agents will be in a waiver pool. There will a FAAB (Free Agents Acquisition Budget) for each team which you can use to bid on players "In-Season/Post Draft" which will consist of $100 plus any leftover money you did not use in the draft (total cap $400). This will be a blind bid system carried out on the Yahoo Platform. Waivers will process on a daily basis and according to when player is stated available on Yahoo, so please bid accordingly. Bids must be for a minimum of $1, whatever player bid you win the amount you bid will become the players salary.
**Please note you must have a legal roster to Bid on players. Yahoo has parameters in place to keep track of this. If Yahoo will not allow you to Bid, you probably need to adjust your roster - i.e. drop a player, move a player off the DL etc. - If you do put in a Bid and it is accepted at the time of the Bid, but then when the process time came up you had an illegal roster you will not be awarded the player, and you will have to re-bid.
**There is no salary penalty for dropping a player, and there is no "Can't Cut List" in this league. This is mainly in place in case a star player has a season ending or even career threatening injury and you want to cut them you can do it as soon as you like and move on, and not have to wait for Yahoo to put them on the DL to remove them. The player will go back into the player pool, where they can be bid on accordingly. With this process there doesn't seem to be any need for a penalty.
**Finalized for 2019 Season - 03/25/19

**Addition to above - In the above statement in regards to legal roster, you can see it states roster spots, DL etc., referring to Yahoo, it does not state about funds/cap space, this addition is to address that statement more clearly. In a blind bid system in a league like this if you have the roster spot or open up the roster you are allowed to bid. You are not guaranteed to win, so you can bid any amount at anytime. As stated in the trade section, which is part of this main section you can make a move that puts you over the cap, and adjust afterward accordingly. We are working with 2 platforms here that are not a perfect mesh. I'm not sure if any of these platforms can truly give you what you want when you start to get this in-depth, Fantrax maybe. The other night bids were rejected not due to roster space but do to cap dollars, in a perfect system this would not have happened, and the team would have been awarded the players as no one else bid on them, and a corresponding move would have been made for the team to get under cap. It's funny because this subject was actually just discussed on Slack prior to this happening, but the thought of a rejected bid didn't cross my mind, hey I can't think of everything ahead of time, after all this is a 1st year league. This is the first time this issue came up on Yahoo, it was discussed by LM's, and a remedy was put in place to solve it. Moving forward there will be a $100 buffer on Yahoo's site($100 will keep the math easy), so if you have $50 in real cap dollars on sheets, it will show $150 on Yahoo. I'm sure this is not the last thing that might come up that needs to be tweaked or discussed, again this is a 1st year league. We will cross those bridges as we get there. This time it was a pretty simple fix. **Note - If this was an actual rule change it would have waited to the off season and be voted on, but this is something that needed to be changed now to work with the system already in place so LM's initiated the solution. **Note - Just like trades, if it is deemed a system error where what we are trying to accomplish is legal but the system does not allow it, it will be manually fixed if possible. **Note - In the beginning of the season a bunch of teams put in $0 Bids, when it was stated that $1 is the minimum. They were still awarded the player if they won the bid(no one else bid), and the salary was made $1. This is a perfect example of trying to integrate systems, and it didn't work out perfectly. An adjustment was made and we move forward. Same thing here. **Note - I have also included the discussion on Slack on here from the other day...........Done Deal Now.......Let's Play Ball!!!!
